Tues/Wed Jan 31-Feb 1

In all sections we did a short online investigation relating scale factors, perimeter, area.
We looked at all the cool scale models and voted for our favorite project in several different categories.

Sect 1/2:
Section 2 continues to have difficulties completing assignments thoroughly/on-time. It's not everyone, but when half the students in class routinely fail to keep up with their responsibilities it can have a negative impact on the entire group.

Homework:
Prepare for a short Ch. 5 quiz on Thursday. You have resources in your binder from all the work we have completed on ratios/rates/proportions. (Guided notes; 5.1/5.3 packets) A great way to prepare is to select a few problems from each lesson from the Ch. 5 review - pages 266 & 267.

Also, preview/review section 6.1 "understanding percents". Read pg. 274-275 actively. Engage with examples. Complete quick check problems 1-4.


Sect 3/4/5:
Fraction re-quiz in class Thursday. (Students earning 90% or above on the take-home quiz will not take the re-quiz.) Class time Tues/Wed was spent reviewing the last practice sheet and answering any questions.

We are beginning Ch. 6 - ratios/proportions/percents.
Homework: Please preview/review (ratios/rates/unit rates) by actively reading text pg. 284. Complete 6.1 worksheet.
